Amended Deed of Gift, 2003
|
The original Colorado Governors Cup Trophy is given with love for the sport of sailboat racing to the Sailing Association of Intermountain Lakes by Bruce and Carole Bates of Bonny Lee Sails. The Trophy was designed by Carl Jensen of Earthworks. This trophy is now used for the keelboat award. Jim Keesling & Rocky Mountain Boatworks provided the trophy for the Dinghy award. The Trophies shall be awarded at the annual Colorado Governors Cup Regatta as set forth in this Deed of Gift. Regatta Authority SelectionAny Colorado sailing club which is a member in good standing of the Sailing Association of Intermountain Lakes (SAIL) and US SAILING may apply to SAIL for authority to host the Governors Cup Regatta. (1) SAIL shall select the Club Regatta Authority, dates and venue from those Clubs that have applied. In the event that no club submits an application, SAIL may solicit applications. SAIL and its members may assist a club in organizing or managing the event. Regatta Management Requirements
Colorado Governors Cup Trophy ScoringThe winner of the Colorado Governors Cup Trophy shall be awarded to the boat with the lowest Cup score as determined below: Total points for all races (no throw outs) in the Regatta for each boat divided by the number of boats competing in that boats fleet yields the Cup score. If there is a Cup Score tie between two or more boats, each boats race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best race score(s). This procedure will be discontinued at the point where any remaining participant to the tie runs out of scores due to fleets completing different numbers of races. All parties to any remaining tie will be recognized as cup winners.
