Curtis Rist

Curtis bring the experience of nearly 50 years of sailing to this role. Curtis has raced dinghies and keelboats in lakes, in coastal venues and offshore. And as a cruiser has sailed throughout Florida, the Florida Keys and the Abacos. in several different vessels including a Topsail Schooner. He has been a US Sailing certified Club Race Officer since 2013 and a certified Club Judges since 2022.

Treasurer
Joe Beirel

Joe has been involved with SAIL for over 25 years, serving as Secretary or Treasurer for most of those years. He has sailed all kinds of craft including iceboats, has owned a C-Scow and an MC-Scow. He currently sails a Santana 20 at Cherry Creek Reservoir with Denver Sailing Association. He enjoys travel, and has bare-boat chartered in Maine, the Chesapeake, North Carolina and the San Juan Islands.

Secretary
Nancy Van de Mark

Nancy has been racing sailboats in Colorado for 25 years. She has been a member of Carter Lake Sailing Club, Dillon Yacht Club and Denver Sailing Association racing on J-22s and Santana 20s,  When not racing sailboats, she enjoys camping, cooking and travel.

Member at Large
Open Position

The member at large shall be responsible for assisting the committee chairs in identifying members to participate on committees. The member at large shall convene a nominating committee that presents nominations for Officers at the Annual Membership Meeting.

Handicap Committee
Mary Griggs

The Handicap Committee shall be responsible for assigning and publishing all regional PHRF ratings as requested by Individual/Family members.

Judging and Race Committee
Doug McKnight

The Judging and Race Committee shall be responsible to establish and publish the Open regatta schedule for member organizations, assist member organizations to fulfill their requests for qualified Race Officers and Judges to run regattas and staff and hold hearings, review Notices of Race and Sailing Instructions for Open regattas, and record and publish Open regatta scores.

Web and Social Media Committee
Open Position

The Web and Social Media Committee shall be responsible to identify a Webmaster and update SAIL website content and social media communications.

Rocky Mountain Racing Coordinating Committee
Open Position

The Rocky Mountain Racing Coordinating Committee shall be responsible to promote opportunities for adult and youth racing in the region.

Training Committee
Open Position

The Training Committee shall be responsible for organizing and conducting educational seminars and classes for SAIL members and individuals seeking certification in race management positions and as judges.
