Clipper round the World – The Race of Your Life
March 7 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. What makes it unique is that the crew on board the eleven 70ft ocean racing yachts are made up of people from all walks of life, aged from 18 up to 75, representing over 50 nations. The 11-month circumnavigation is divided into eight legs and up to 16 individual races, including six ocean crossings.
You are invited to hear from those who have been there, stared Mother Nature in the eye, and taken all she can muster. Circumnavigator Jacqueline Kavanagh, Clipper Round the World 2019-2020 Race – Team Ha Long Bay Viet Nam, along with her teammate local Denver sailor and Victoria Sailing School instructor Michael Sotir, are sharing their firsthand adventures. They will discuss the required physical effort, mental resilience, and teamwork necessary to propel a 70-foot spartan sailing vessel to a podium finish. You will discover how you, too, can compete in the full circumnavigation or selected legs of THE RACE OF YOUR LIFE.
